Perpetua Kish, known as Pepe, is one of Australia’s most progressive and multi-award-winning family lawyers. She works with separating couples across Australia, with a clear focus on keeping matters out of court. Despite acting in a wide range of family law disputes, Pepe has not had a matter progress to a final hearing in over a decade, reflecting a consistent commitment to resolution rather than escalation.
Pepe is a co-founder and Chair of The Kind Lawyers movement, and one of the architects of ‘Kind Law’, an emerging approach to legal practice that challenges traditional adversarial models and instead focuses on using the law responsibly to achieve stable, workable outcomes.
She is also a director of Pacifica Congress, a leading multidisciplinary organisation of family law professionals across the Pacific region working to improve the experience of family law for children and their families. In addition, she is an elected board member of the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals, a national body supporting the growth and integrity of collaborative, interdisciplinary family dispute resolution in Australia.
Pepe will also take the reins as Guest Editor of a forthcoming peer-reviewed special edition of the Bond Law Review academic journal in 2026/27, in collaboration with Bond University, focusing on the emerging discipline of Kind Law.
Her practice is informed by a multidisciplinary background. She is trained in conflict management coaching, parenting coordination, collaborative coaching, and advanced collaborative law. She is an accredited mediator and holds postgraduate qualifications in Human Services (child welfare and development).
