Jonathon (Jono) is a co-founder of Balance Family Law. He is the leader of our Wills, Estates and Superannuation practice, and a senior lawyer within our Family Law team, where he primarily assists clients with property and financial matters, child support agreements and binding financial agreements (“pre-nups” and “post-nups”).
Jono is sought after by clients for his technical expertise, practical and strategic advice and collaborative approach to dispute resolution. He has a knack for identifying potential issues or disputes that may arise, and creating and implementing solutions to minimise risk exposure and disputes. His varied experience across the family law and estates space means he is a go-to for all things tax, trusts and superannuation, and he is one of the very few practitioners able to value CSC defined-benefit superannuation interests.
Jono holds a Master of Laws (Applied Law) with a major in Estate Planning from the College of Law and is accredited by the SMSF Association as a self-managed superannuation fund specialist. Jono is also a director of The Kind Lawyers, an adjunct lecturer with the College of Law, a member of the University of Canberra Law School Course Advisory Group and a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
Outside of work, Jono is an avid traveller. His goal is to travel to as many countries as possible and all seven continents, having reached 32 countries and five continents so far (with more planned very soon).
