As Balance Family Law’s newest addition to its lawyers, Epi brings his enthusiastic and personable energy to any room he enters. He primarily works under Jono’s supportive tutelage and assists in both Family Law and Wills and Estates matters.
His knack for giving unsolicited relationship advice to friends may have led him to start his legal career in family law, but his character and skillset have also made him a fit for the nuances of the more people-facing areas of the law. With a background in Financial Accounting to complement his Juris Doctor degree, he enjoys assisting in property settlement matters and takes a keen interest in helping clients prepare for the uncertain with the firm’s Wills and Estate practice. Coming from a migrant background and a jurisdiction that currently lacks divorce legislation, he has developed an appreciation for the future clarity and intentionality that wills, consent orders, and binding financial agreements bring to people’s relationships.
While completing his legal education from the Australian National University Law School, Epi has held multiple student leadership roles, such as Equity Officer of the ANU Postgraduate and Research Students Association (2020-2021), Senior Resident at Toad Hall, a multicultural student residence (2019-2022), and as President of the ANU Filipino Association (2020-2021). He is currently the branch secretary for the Asian-Australian Lawyers Association – ACT Branch and a member of the Filipino-Australian Lawyers Association. He thrives in building connections within and outside his professional life.
On the weekends, you can usually see him playing basketball or hiking with his brothers, dining at his sister’s cafés, or going on a trip with his friends around Australia or overseas. He also holds a keen interest in all things mythology and military history.
